Interns receive hands-on training covering contracts, research methods, use of the database, as well as general office skills. Interns assist Burns executives with all aspects of spokesperson and endorsement campaigns. They also will participate in the creative side of the business by involvement in brainstorming sessions, researching celebrities and athletes for possible campaigns and events, and compiling full bios for client proposals. Civil Engineering Spring/Summer Co-op Student #1327, Ayres Associates
Ideal candidate is a junior or senior pursuing a degree in civil engineering. Previous experience working on roadway construction sites preferable. Applicant must have a reliable means of transportation, a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. This individual will work under the direct supervision of engineering staff and will be assigned to a construction project. Duties may include assisting with construction inspection on asphalt or concrete pavement, curb and gutter, etc.; construction staking such as subgrade and base course; and other duties.
Program Coordinator, Mary Lou Williams Center at Duke University
The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the substantive and logistical programming of the Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture from conceptualization to execution of events that promote the Center’s educational and cultural enrichment objectives as it pertains to Black life, culture and history. The Program Coordinator assists in the advising of Black student organizations and student leadership development. Other responsibilities include public relations and marketing of the MLWC, its programs and services, supervision of student staff and involvement in general Campus Life programs as assigned.
