They promote CWC’s resources and lead Speaker’s Bureau programs, which are discussion-based presentations on a variety of issues such as body image, women’s health, domestic violence, and sexism that travel to different on-campus community groups. The coordinator also organizes and brings speaker events to campus on a semester basis.

Bilingual Clerk Typist at the Dane County Job Center: This position requires the ability to type 35 net words per minute with 77% accuracy and must be bilingual Spanish/English. The individual in this position will be working in the lobby assisting customers with applying on-line for assistance and working at the Help Desk creating Requests for Assistance (RFAs)/scheduling appointments. Hours for this position are 7:45 to 4:30 Monday through Friday at the Dane County Job Center. Other duties will include creating RFAs and communicating with Spanish speaking customers by phone as needed. Typing tests will be scheduled after the application submission deadline. Spring Rose Growers Cooperative is hiring Latino Outreach Facilitator and Spanish Interpreter to co-facilitate the USDA-funded project Growing Spring Rose Cooperative with members and staff of the Spring Rose Growers Cooperative. The Coop was founded in the summer of 2010 by immigrant and minority farmers at the Farley Center Farm Incubator and has since expanded membership and programming, while keeping ties with the Farley Center (http://www.farleycenter.org/). The Co-op is in its second year of intensive technical assistance for and by socially disadvantaged producers in Southern Wisconsin. The facilitator reports to the board of the cooperative. She or he publicizes technical assistance services and activities offered by the cooperative and facilitates access to these by members and other participants, with a focus on the Latino community. This work includes but is not limited to producing a brief radio feature in collaboration with WORT 89.9 FM and the Farley Center for Peace, Justice and Sustainability. The facilitator is also responsible for interpreting and translating meetings, workshops and documents from and into Spanish. Finally, she or he assists the rest of the staff in meeting grant-reporting needs and other administrative tasks as well as works with individual members, the board, other staff and partner organizations for the development of the cooperatives’ technical assistance activities.
The position is grant-funded through December 2013. Pay is $17.25 per hour, averaging 20 hours/week.
