Artist Wanted! Media Solutions in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health is looking for an artist to provide support for faculty and staff for the enhancement and fulfillment of their communication needs through graphic design, illustration and composition; both original work and modifications of existing designs and will consult directly with faculty and staff to plan the visual presentation of research and other information. The position will determine and execute the appropriate artistic techniques to describe and clarify research results, clinical procedures and instructional information. A Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field is preferred with a minimum of 3 years of graphic design experience using Macintosh computers and software (i.e. Adobe Suite). Engineering Professional Development is seeking a graduate student hourly this summer to help with copy editing of online and print collateral promoting adult continuing education courses, certificates, and degrees on a variety of engineering-related projects.  This person will work with the marketing communications staff of a leading provider of technical continuing education training for the engineering, building, and construction industries.

General responsibilities include assisting the marketing communications team in the promotion of continuing adult education courses, certificates, and degrees on a variety of engineering related topics. Main duties will include proofreading and copy editing of marketing and instructional materials; proofreading newsletters; using HTML coding skills to update web pages via a content management system; managing and tracking small projects; working with subject matter experts to update existing materials; taking notes and acting as support in meetings; and consolidating analytical data on marketing campaigns to provide to marketing staff.

Opportunities will include work in editing/proofreading, public relations, social media, search engine optimization, writing, database promotions, and telemarketing. May also include the evaluation of current and new markets, evaluation of current and new marketing trends and strategies and ongoing competitor analysis reports.

Preferred candidate will be a graduate student majoring in marketing communications related field. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in teams or individually, and have superior communication and organization skills. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills required. Must have computer skills in Word and Excel, and familiarity with basic HTML coding.
