Independent Living Specialist/Grassroots Organizer: Access to Independence is seeking the right candidate to work in a dual role as an IL Specialist and Grassroots Organizer.  This full time position will continue the development of the agency’s grassroots advocacy network, as well as fulfill the responsibilities of an IL Specialist.

Responsibilities as an organizer include: Reaching out to members of the local disability community, dissemination of information to the network, providing advocacy training to local groups and promoting systems advocacy by the members of the disability community.  Responsibilities of an IL Specialist include: Provide coverage for information and referral contacts, manage a caseload of consumers with active goals, provide services such as advocacy, skills training, benefits assistance, assistive technology and youth transition, among a number of other duties and obligations.

Requirements: Knowledge of disability rights and IL Philosophy; firsthand experience and/or education with disability-related issues; demonstrated leadership ability; knowledge of community resources and ability to develop networks. Experience is required with public relations and presentations, and providing training through a curriculum. Candidate must have an insured vehicle and valid driver’s license or ability to arrange own transportation. Computer competency is required in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as competency in using social networking tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong time management skills are a must. Bi-lingual in Spanish or ASL preferred.

  • Alternative Sanctions Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for overseeing three multi-agency community based programs; Drug Treatment Court Program (DTCP), Day Report and Treatment Program (DART) and Treatment Alternative Program (TAP).  The program coordinator is expected to perform across a full range of responsibilities including development and implementation of program planning, policies and procedures; coordination of contracted services; liaison with the criminal justice and treatment systems; supervision of clinical assessment and administrative support staff; direct clinical services; development of program materials including screening and assessment instrumentation; data collection; program evaluation and reports to state and county government.
  • Clinical Specialist position is responsible for providing a wide array of culturally competent, recovery oriented, trauma sensitive, direct clinical services including individual and group therapy.  The Clinical Specialist is responsible for writing and maintaining accurate and timely documentation related to the provision of service.   The Clinical Specialist attends team meetings and other regular program activities.   The Clinical Specialist reports directly to the assigned Team Leader with overall program supervision provided by the Clinical Team Manager.  The position requires some evening work hours.  The position requires a minimum of 1325 combined direct service hours and case management hours, with at least 1000 hours of direct client service and 325 hours of case management.
