Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree + 5 years of professional experience. Must demonstrate knowledge of and/or skill working at the intersection of racial justice and other social justice issues and experience/degrees in areas of social justice education, student affairs, higher education, or other closely related areas. Now that you’ve invested in your degree, learn essential job search strategies proven to be far more effective than responding to job listings alone. Transitioning to the world of work after college can be daunting. In this eight week group, two experienced career counselors from L&S Career Services will guide you through the process for developing the necessary skills to survive in the current job market. Come ready to network with fellow freshly graduated job seekers and to learn about effective strategies and resources available to you as UW alumni (or soon-to-be-alumni.)  In the group format you will have the chance to connect with others, share ideas and resources, and further define your goals through discussion and activities. Some of the weekly meeting discussion topics will include:
  • Creating your job search action plan
  • Boosting your online presence – using LinkedIn and other social media outlets
  • Interview skills building
  • Informational interviewing and other networking skills

AVID/TOPS Tutor Position, Fall 2012Tutors facilitate high school students in collaborative in-class study groups, and evaluate student binders in the AVID/TOPS college readiness elective course. Tutors may also perform other AVID/TOPS related duties as assigned by the AVID Site Team. 
Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a higher education program or have received at least a bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in college level math, science, or Foreign Language, desirable. Previous experience working with youth is preferred.  Knowledge of AVID methodologies are a plus but not required.   
Compensation: $10 – $10.50 an hour, depending on AVID/TOPSexperience.
Work Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, during the academic day, additional AVID/TOPS site team meetings and trainings scheduled throughout the year. We require tutors work the same shift on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will place tutors based on tutor availability and Madison Metropolitan High School needs. Position begins September, 2012.

Wisconsin Department of Health Services Seeks Business Manager Under the general direction of the Management Services Director, this position functions as the Business Manager, with immediate responsibility of the supervision of employees engaged in the accounting, budget management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and patient and inmate trust funds for Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI) and Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC). This position prepares necessary financial statements, accounting functions, and reports for managers within WMHI and WRC as well as DMHSAS and Division of Enterprise Services (DES). This position also calculates costs and charge backs for shared services in the Business Office, Store, Dietary and Pharmacy departments for a large Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JACHO) accredited hospital and a large, accredited secure treatment facility, both served by one Business Office. This position administers WMHI Canteen operations, maintains procedures and records to assure control of all incoming and outgoing cash and property and supervises Business Office staff, including WMHI/WRC Patient/Inmate Accounts, and WMHI canteen staff.
